MAN UP in Ten Lessons

Chapter Four — Self-Love

It is of practical value to learn to like yourself. Since you must spend so much time with yourself, you might as well get some satisfaction out of the relationship.

Norman Vincent Peale

Self-love is a tricky subject. It’s a concept that conjures up instant images in most of us, many of them not terribly flattering. The notion we should somehow go around loving ourselves smacks of silliness at the very least, of hopeless self=absorption at worst.

Yet there seems something compellingly logical about the thought that, unless we do have some sort of reltively high regard for ourselves, then (a) odds are we’re going to be pretty negative anout everyone else, and (b) others will tend to view us with precisely the same disdain in which we hold ourselves….

So begins Man Up’s fourth chapter, which I happily provide for you, absolutely free of charge, in easy-to-listen-to audio form. While this chapter alone may serve to transform your life (I do hope it does — let me know, this world needs as much love as possible), I think you’ll find the other nine equally thought-provoking. They include:

  • Courage

  • Truth

  • Action

  • Happiness

  • Passion

  • Compassion

  • Creativity

  • Adventure

  • Style

  • and a bonus section on Sex!

Happy listening — and please share this with anyone you know who you feel might benefit (you might want to start with Donald Trump)!
